Our Story
In Malagasy, Ravina means leaves which also refers to the Ravinala plant, often called the Traveller’s tree. Its giant leaves offer protection from the sun and water is usually found in its heart, making it the all-time favorite tree of travelers. Born from the encounter of Malagasy and Hungarian cultures, Ravina is an invitation to travel to the mysterious lands of Madagascar and to discover the exotic taste of its products.
Coming from two different countries, we met in Paris during our university studies. We soon became friends as we shared a common passion for food and travelling. After several years of living and working in Paris we both returned to our homelands, and we decided to launch a business together across borders and continents. In the last couple of years, we had the chance to venture across Madagascar, discovering the island’s exceptional native wildlife and unique food products. Malagasy ingredients like honey, spices, fruits, or chocolates are already famous among chefs and gourmets. Ravina’s mission is to bring the finest selection to your table.
